RIVER CAM: River Cam and Dirty River Cam In Queen Vic's Time

Below are two simple songs which can be sung as rounds, which are super useful for warming up choirs, with lyrics adapted Horrible-Histories-styley with stinkey lyrics to the famous rhymes!

The first round is called "River Cam" and is based on the tune of the popular "London's Burning" round, starting with the words "River Cam was very dirty".

This is followed by a song called "Dirty River Cam in Queen Vic's Time" and can also be sung as a round, which is based on the tune of the French song "Frere Jacques".

RIVER CAM (warmup round to the tune of London’s Burning)

Song and Round performed by year 5 Abbey Meadows pupils.

River Cam was
Very dirty
Died of chol-er-a,
Tummy hurty,
Hy-giene!
Made it clean!
Knew they ought to
Clean the water.

DIRTY RIVER CAM IN QUEEN VIC'S TIME (To the Tune of Frere Jacques)

River dirty
Tummy hurty
Queen Vic’s time
Cam full of grime
Careful not to swallow a
Gulp or you get cholera,
Then hygiene
Made it clean
